Review of Serpico (1973) by Andy V — 10 Jun 2012
Wow. When they say they don't make films like THAT anymore, this is what they're referring to. No CGI special effects, teriffic acting, directing, and a superb adapted screenplay make this one of the iconic American movies of the 70's.
Based on a true story of a NYPD idealistic policeman and his encounter with inside corruption of the force. Should be considered a bookend to "The Godfather" in that the two encapulated organizations (NYPD and the Mafia) operate with their own sense of morality, intersecting at the common interface of money.
