Review of Sarah's Key (2010) by David Z — 02 Sep 2011
Amazing french film..personal in a lot of ways as my grandmother and uncles had to hide during this horrible time....I am proud to be french and like many western countries, all countries have an absolute stain in their history and this is France's...it's an absolute disgusting, horrible and unforgiving stain!
President Chirac had the courage to apologize for these atrocities- not even committed by the Nazis- but voluntarily by the Vichy regime.....
Regarding the film, amazing cast and performances- I wasn't expecting to see a french film so it was a wonderful surprise....Kristin Scott Thomas is her usual great and so is Niels Arestrup- another great european actor- he was amazing in Le Prophet....
Amazing story and am glad this was made into a movie....
A winner for the Weinsteins!
