Review of Rigor Mortis (2013) by Johnson C — 31 Oct 2013
I was amazed at the quality of the film from a technical point of view. To me it looked like the vfx budget was $10M usd, easily. Being a longtime horror fan, I saw some things I hadn't seen before, ex: the 'tendrils' off of the twin spirits.
The movie played like a "Hellraiser". I loved the fact that the vampire never spoke; it was suitably creepy. The story did drag in places but the last act made up for it, I think. I admit I am not well versed in the history of Hong Kong vampire movies, but I'm told this is a faithful treatment and homage to the older 80s horror films.
