Review of Rigor Mortis (2013) by Adriano B — 15 Mar 2014
Surprising debut for Juno Mak: what a flick! Touching chords of both melancholy, sweetness and fun (weirdly so), Rigor Mortis is not only nostalgia (or sympathy) for mr. Vampire, but a jackpot of fantasy.
Japanese coproduce, so in the end you have a melting pot of chinese hopping vampires and japanese Samara's ghosts: kinda like an Asian answer to Cabin in the woods. How can you think this is bad?
