Review of Monsters: Dark Continent (2014) by Iain B — 01 Feb 2017
I found this to be one of the most thought-provoking takes on a war movie in some time. Although it's been slated, I personally thought it was better than had been reported. It's comments on the confusion of modern warfare, the situation in the Middle East, and human behaviour in the theatre of war, are all very insightful and refreshing. Oh, and there's huge monsters. Always good.
It uses the backdrop of a sci-fi film to look at the confusion of modern warfare, and I think does it in a very powerful way. Worth a look.
