Review of Mao’s Last Dancer (2009) by Jeff P — 08 Sep 2010
The true story of Li Cunxin and his rise from a simple peasant's family in China to become one of the world's greatest ballet dancers...chosen by Madame Mao's cultural advisers to be trained, at the age of 11, to attend the Beijing Dance Academy, where students endured 16-hour days of training.
He was one of the first students from the Beijing Dance Academy to go to the United States....an amazing journey with a tear-jerker finale that for once, doesn't end in the death of a family member.
..very enjoyable film that leaves you feeling good...
