Review of Lolita (1962) by Cale R — 16 Apr 2008
Like many of Stanley Kubrick's movies, most people compare it too closely to the novel. Not only is it just an adaptation of Vladmir Nabokov's novel about an english professors obsession for a 12 year old girl, but to this day several aspects of the novel would be censored by the MPAA if they were attempted to be put on film.
All the lead actors and actresses are brilliant, and as usual Peter Sellers steals the show. Lolita marks the beginning of Kubrick's best work.
