Review of La Strada (1954) by Magnus H — 13 Sep 2008
There are a few of those films out there, that remain in your mind forever. When ever I am asked about my favorite film, this film always pops up in my mind. Interestingly enough, it is as if the film and I have been building some type of relationship.
The main character, Gelsomina, becomes the incarnation of vunerability and purity. And to see that in the end that she overpowers the harshness and machoism of the Quinn character just keeps tugging my guts.
It describes the unseen force of the bonds we create. In some way it is never out of date this one.
