Review of Irreversible (2002) by Edgar C — 31 Dec 2012
Irréversible is a project by a man with his left hand grabbing a camera and his right hand grabbing his huge balls, very firmly. What we have here is essentially an adaptation of Dante's Divine Comedy (from the hellish opening sequences to the heaven-like ending) put in the context of a brutal, noirish and nightmarish France, showing reality just as it is while aesthetically achieving something spectacular, like an "Antichrist" of Béla Tarr.
97/100.
