Review of If You Are the One (2008) by Joe L — 15 May 2009
Amusing and enjoyable. I think director Feng Xiaogeng is successful in targeting the appetite of the audience in mainland China. Audience from other places might not be so impressed. Some say that the plot lack focus but I don't quite agree. I have to say that some scenes are not so logical, such as the selling of the so-called "Dispute settling machine", the confession of.
Ge You in the chapel in Hokkaido and Ge You disguised himself as a bear. Some of the conversations by Ge You are quite complicated. I suppose people don't speak like that everyday. Or maybe I'm too ignorant of the culture in China. Overall good cinematography and gives you lots of laughter.
