Review of if.... (1968) by Franc A — 10 Nov 2007
THE inditement of English public school. Teenage monastic life explained: ritual, tradition, exploitation, repression. A tender explanation of an origin of homosexuallity. The best portrayal of instant, mutual lust ever on screen.
Great cinema: the moving image alone often recognised as sufficient. A penetrating view of where some of the greatest British minds and biggest pricks came from. A must-see for Americans.
