Review of Girl 27 (2007) by Sv G — 25 Jun 2011
Hollywood writer, David Stenn stumbles upon the long buried story of the rape of a dancer for MGM during one of their stag parties for their salesmen in 1937. Patricia Douglas, "girl 27" is found by Stenn in her 80s and becomes his reluctant story for this documentary.
Her sad story before and after the rape is a compelling one, and she in the end finds some vidndication when the whole story gets printed in Variety revealing the dirty underbelly of MGM studios back in it's heyday.
