Review of Get Out (2017) by Jordan P — 13 Jan 2019
This movie is a stellar outing in the horror genre that sets a standard that will be hard to ever surpass. The score was just emotionally powerful, and every scene felt like it was meticulous and artful.
The suspense was gripping the whole time and I loved that though there is a racist overtone, it doesn't control the script or the film. The scene in the special room looked like something out of The Shining, perfectly symmetrical and in so doing it made the film even more terrifying.
The scene with Allison Williams in her room at the end was also perfect for portraying the personality of her character. Daniel Kaluuya and Catherine Keener absolutely nail their parts, and this was just a killer movie, in every sense of the word.
