Review of Get Out (2017) by Olivierpiel — 20 Mar 2019
My original review was deleted. I wrote that this film was a blatant racist hit job because it UNIFORMLY painted all white characters (+ one Asian for good measure) as pure racist evil doers. Indeed the definition of racism is when a person equates a skin color to a certain predisposition (be it physical or intellectual). I was appalled as I really enjoyed all the previous work of Key and Peele.
This film is pure unmitigated racism at its core. That negates all the positive aspects (esp.editing) of the film.
PS: The film also copies without shame the scene from "under the skin" where a man is trapped in black void.
