Review of Eating Raoul (1982) by Haberdasher Z — 07 May 2008
One of the funniest black comedy films of all time. "Eating Raoul" is well written and directed by Paul Bartel, who also stars in this film as Paul Bland and Mary Woronov as his wife Mary Bland.
They are a couple who want to start a restaurant and need money. Paul and Mary having to put up with the swingers in their apartment building and elsewhere. After one of the swingers tries to rape Mary, Paul kills the swinger by hitting him over the head with a frying pan and he and Mary get the idea of posing as prostitues and inviting over the rich swingers to where Paul will kill them with their frying pan.
They later meet Raoul, a locksmith and a thief who gets in on the action. A great and funny film from 1982. Robert Beltran is awesome a Raoul.
