Review of Dementia 13 (1963) by Jami L — 08 Oct 2008
1963's Dementia 13 is one of those classic horror films, that I really enjoy.
It is the tale of a greedy widow, who plots to stay in the families will, after her husband suddenly dies from a heart attack. Not knowing the true secrets and guilt the family harbors over an arcane happening, in the years past.
This film launched Francis Ford Coppola into the main stream, as a director. Dementia 13 had one of those great tag lines, of past generations horror. "You Must Pass the "D-13" Test To Prepare You for the Horrifying Experience of Dementia 13. If You Fail the Test...You Will Be Asked to Leave the Theater!" That ranks right up there with The Last House on the Left's "To avoid fainting, keep repeating It's only a movie...It's only a movie...".
Dementia 13 is a horror classic, and a must see.
