Review of Days of Glory (2006) by James C — 21 Nov 2007
An interesting take on the French/Algerian participation in WWII; but suffers slightly from being overlong and a quite blatant last 30 minute rip-off of Saving Private Ryan (including an older version of a main character revisiting fallen comrades).
With some decent battle scenes (although nothing breaks the mould) and some terrific performances which give the last act some emotional clout, Days of Glory is very similar to 9th Company - promised such much, but ultimately did very little to add to the genre.
