Review of Cesar Chavez (2014) by J G — 18 Apr 2014
I like biopics. As flawed as they can be getting the Hollywood treatment, I still feel I learn something about the people, places and time. Cesar Chavez is a basic walk through his time uniting the farm workers of America.
It's interesting, but neither inspiring or compelling. The women of the film really shine. Peña's commitment in the title role is pedestrian at best. I mean how does Chavez do a 25-day hunger strike and not lose any weight?
