What an amazing movie! I am SO glad that Demián Bichir won the Oscar for best actor, he deserved it. Make sure you bring your kleenex to this one, esp near the end. If you are a parent, I do not know how you could not connect with this movie. Any of us would do whatever we could to give our children a better life than we had. And Bichir's character does not only that, but also treats everyone, even those who have wronged him, with a dignity he rarely receives. What a wonderful role model, his son should be proud. A Better Life not only captures the difficulty of the life of an immigrant but also the tight but sometimes strained bond between father and son.
