The first of the dark westerns with more than just a dash of film noir. Notice Stewart's eyes as he beats people, and Winter's mention of the last bullet... this movie paved the way for the Magnificent 7, Hud, even up to Unforgiven.
A great bit of film history, and very daring by Anthony Mann and Jimmy Stewart.
