Review of Werckmeister Harmonies (2001) by Nazareno H — 02 Sep 2012
Seeing Werckmeister Harmóniák progress, to me, was like watching a painting. Beautiful, slow, moving and at times charming. But like many paintings, I think this film is profound beyond my intellect; If I try, I could interpret it in a way others wouldn't because Werckmeister Harmóniák is so ambivalent.
.. like a Picasso painting. Many people did not quite interpret what an artist like Picasso intended to convey with some of his works. This film is no different. Really engaging and steady. But careful, for I feel this movie can be as entertaining to some as watching paint dry! It can be excruciating or it can be thought provoking.
I'm looking forward to see what else the auteur behind this piece has under his sleeve.
