Review of Wendy and Lucy (2008) by Tony O — 22 Dec 2008
Wendy and Lucy is the saddest and most beautiful film of 2008. Like Kelly Reichardt's previous film, Old Joy, it is a quiet, minimalistic film that has broad political and social implications: it says more about how we live and how much we need other people in trying times than just about any other American film of the year.
Michelle Williams is truly amazing and, if the Oscars had any meaning, would win best actress in a heartbeat.
