Review of Vexille (2007) by Richard H — 06 Oct 2008
Compared to the eye candy showcases of Appleseed and its sequel Ex Machina, Vexille spends more time trying to tell a compelling story than show off the animators ability to portray enigmatic technology in CG (not to mention staying away from hints of a love triangle like in Ex Machina).
If you've seen the Appleseed movies and felt deprived of the storyline and characters, I would recommend checking out Vexille. If you hadn't, then watch this first and leave the Appleseed films to a time when you'd prefer eye candy over brain candy.
