Review of The Young and the Damned (1950) by Sunil J — 04 Dec 2010
One of the best films ever made, it shows us the hopeless life some kids have in Mexico City.
Plot: 5 out of 5; like in a spider-web, every plot collides into a common point: the rotten society that corrupts kids and makes impossible to them to be saved.
Acting: 4.5 out of 5; Perfect job made by the kids.
Direction: 5 out of 5; Buñuel at his finest; he never looses the chance to use his surrealistic style at some points.
Music: 4.5 out of 5; Relying more on the sounds of daily Mexico, Music is there to guide us sometimes through the movie.
Effects and locations: 5 out of 5; Perfect locations; effects are almost non-existent; a movie like this does not need to rely on them.
Overall: 4.8/5.
Final words: A magnificent piece of art by Buñuel.
Pues ten cuidado porque las gallinas también pueden vengarse...
