Review of The Last Winter (2006) by Ryan S — 18 Oct 2007
A very unique blend of natural horror, monster movies, and psychological terror. Now, that is not to say that this is the creepiest movie ever. Instead, it is a genuinely creepy, intelligent film that scares you as much with the ideas it has as with the images you see on screen at times.
Whether or not you like this film will basically come down to whether or not your down with the idea of wendigos, and how they actually look in the film (not the most impressive CGI ever, but adequate none the less).
I was intrigued by the idea, and found the end to be both beautiful and haunting. Acting is also very good, making this a very interesting "horror" film with a quality production.
