Review of The Daughter (2015) by Steve W — 05 Nov 2016
This writer/director belongs to the school of film-making that considers dialogue an irritating necessity. When the actors are not being histrionic, they're dribbling out trite and humourless banalities that made my wife and I laugh with disbelief at scenes that were supposed to be tragic.
Unfortunately, he also belongs to the school that creates suspense by withholding dialogue that any normal person would utter straight away. And I mustn't forget the two old mates getting drunk scene.
.. I've never seen that in a movie before! Don't waste your time or money on this rubbish.
