Review of Somers Town (2008) by Francesco B — 14 Sep 2008
Surprisingly nice film. Not as dark as have come to expect from Shane Meadows, but without losing his gritty everyman appeal. The story surrounds a young man played by Thomas Turgoose who runs away from his midlands home to London.
We never find out why he ran away or what he was running from. Instead the film concentrates on the people he meats, predominately the son of a Polish immigrant.
