Review of Shotgun Stories (2007) by Chris W — 02 Jul 2008
Very much in the vein of David Gordon Green's Undertow and George Washington (DGG produced this film), Jeff Nichols' Shotgun Stories is a very quiet, sobering revenge piece about two sets of half brothers who go to war with each other after their father's passing.
At times it does feel rather boring and just watching time itself pass, but the film is kept on edge by Michael Shannon's simmering performance.
