Review of Samson and Delilah (2009) by Sergei M — 12 Jun 2009
This is a loaded story in a flawlessly made film. It moves slow and deliberate, and the minimal (or lack of) dialogue demands strict attention from the audience.
Any review of this film should prepare you for the highly confronting and tragic circumstances (and events) the characters experience.
However, this is a film that should not be avoided for fear of discomfort. It is not embellished. It is honest, and shockingly provocative.
Hopefully everyone will watch this, and Australia will be compelled to accept the reality and address the appalling situation that our indigenous communities presently have no choice but to endure.
Its on at the Luna, probably elsewhere too.
