Review of Reprise (2006) by Gita T — 14 Dec 2008
I don't know much about contemporary Norwegian cinema, but this film completely kicked my ass. This is a gorgeously shot, delicately woven story of friendship, competition, love, and struggling into your early twenties. A refreshing and truly exciting debut feature from Joachim Trier.
While this one was released in Norway in 2006, it did not see a US release until earlier this year thanks to a partnership between Miramax and Netflix. Unquestionably one of the best films I've seen in 2008.
