Review of loudQUIETloud: A Film About the Pixies (2006) by Jack F — 16 Sep 2007
It took me until the film's finale to figure out what I didn't like about loudQuietloud. We see a montage of footage from Pixies' younger days, and I realized the lack of this throughout the film makes the band's place in history lose a lot of context.
If you're a fan you'll like it, but there isn't much insight in the picture. There are several interesting setpieces, true, and the music is still amazing, but it feels incomplete. And, for the love of God, there's no "the" in the band's name.
Sheesh.
