Review of Harakiri (1962) by Ian R — 27 Feb 2008
Damn. An amazing movie in general, let alone for a samurai film. It helps to have some background on the samurai code and feudal japan, but you'll be able to get the point without it as well. Pretty much an anti-samurai movie, this deals extensively with the concepts of obligation and honour and the emptiness of living by such a code.
Phenomenal movie.
