Review of Glen Campbell: I'll Be Me (2014) by Gene E — 26 Nov 2014
The movie was extremely well done. As a big fan of Glen Campbell music I was a little trepid about seeing it, knowing that it would be quite emotional for me. It is never easy seeing someone you have enjoyed for 45 years going through this type of sad situation.
The film does a good job in portraying the effects of Alzheimer's on the victim and on the family and loved ones....it is a gritty portrayal without being embarrassing or graphic. The film is a microcosm of Glen's career which shows so many of his talents (although, I would have loved to hear his Amazing Grace on the babpipes, honestly).
The impact on Alzheimer's is shown in detail and is very sad....without a doubt, but the love of family and the wonderful Glen Campbell character shine above and beyond the disease....I continue to pray for Glen and his family and loved ones.
