Review of Ghoulies (1985) by Freddy M — 24 Feb 2011
A dull horror-comedy, ostensibly a rip-off of Gremlins, except in this movie the (poorly designed) title creatures don't really do a heck of a lot except loiter around the sets. Peter Liapis adds to the tedium with his performance in the lead role, but Michael Des Barres is so intense looking that you think he's overacting before he's even said or done anything.
Would-be scream queen Bobbie Bresee has a brief bit as the "Temptress" in the film's one decent shock scene.
