Review of Dreams of a Life (2011) by Paolo R — 02 Jan 2012
Grippingly poignant documentary that augments the real life story of a woman who died alone and remained unfound for 3 years. The talking heads of those who had known her, and either lost touch, or thought they'd been abandoned by her, tell the story from their perspectives.
.. and this leads the film maker to recreate the persona of Joyce Vincent with an actor. How you view this portrayal will have an effect on your opinion of the success of the director. Me, I liked it, as it added a means for the audience to think about the real human cost.
