Review of Dracula 3D (2012) by Vincent P — 07 Apr 2014
With lots of heaving bosoms, sumptuous sets/costumes and over-the-top kills, this Hammer throwback twists the old tale to keep you on your toes... but some weird anomalies exist because of it. Like the fact that there's two Renfields. Granted they're not both named Renfield, but they serve the same purpose. It's like they had two different ideas for the character they couldn't reconcile so they decided to include both.
The 3D is phenomenal. The CGI is way off (but incredibly charming). The score incorporates a whole lotta theremin. An entertaining take on the old tale that horror movie buffs oughta enjoy for reviving staples of the genre; despite its shortcomings.
