Review of Dogtown and Z-Boys (2002) by Leonie M — 04 Aug 2007
I thought this movie handled the rise and rise of alt skateboarding and surf culture brilliantly. Focussing on the group as a whole and what they meant/brought to the genre and on the individuals at the same time was pure genius.
The photographs and footage of Z-boys skating was incredible. It was a joy and a privellege to watch a bunch of "no hopers" have fun, live on the extreme edge and make a ton of cash.
