Review of Croupier (1998) by Edward S — 18 Aug 2009
Densely layered, edgy, dark, and totally cool. This movie is an all time favourite, a totally unique little art movie shot constantly in twilight hours. In fact the only time we see daylight is from the other side of the world when Clive Owen's father calls him from sunny South Africa.
People have called this the British 'Fight Club' but don't let this fool you - there is no hyperbole or violence here - it's stylish, suave and sophisticated.
