Review of Brain Damage (1988) by Wayne Z — 28 Aug 2008
Elmer looks like a talking poo with big blue eyes. He has a knack of befrending humans by crawling up their backs and inserting a needle (that comes from his mouth) into the back of their necks and giving them a dose of blue fluid.
This fluid gives them an hallucinagenic high (you get to see the visuals). The only draw back is that in exchange for Elmers 'juice' the owner must supply Elmer with a fresh supply of human brains.
If they fail to do so Elmer will simply find a new human to inject leaving the previous owner to go cold turkey (not a pretty sight). Frank Henenlotter's bigger budgetted follow up to 'Basket Case' is just as good as it sounds.
With great comic gore and visual effects. There is even a cameo from 'Basket Case's Dwane and Belial! Great stuff!
