Review of Black Legion (1937) by Nestor A — 07 Dec 2009
Despite being one of Bogart's first feature films, it is amazingly timely given the current economy and the anti-immigration, isolationist sentiments. It paints a chilling picture of how bad "America for Americans" mob mentality can be when groups of individuals use extortion and violence to influence others.
The fact that it is based on a true story makes it that much more disturbing.
