Review of Urban Cowboy (1980) by Courtney D — 21 May 2010
Great movie. Totally cliche Texas throughout the movie. Love the fact that the plot line is about John Travolta's character deciding between his wife (who he married after knowing her for 2 days and has been married to for a week) who takes off to shack up with an ex-con in a trailer behind an indoor rodeo, and a city girl.
The obvious winner should be the City Girl, but it's not (sorry to ruin the plot ending, but really, you can smell it a mile away). Oh, and there are lots of great mechanical bull riding scenes throughout the movie, and great music (coming from someone who hates country music).
