Review of Trucker (2008) by Buddy A — 06 May 2012
Michelle Monaghan successfully shifts from the sidekick gal of comedy and action and stands strong as the lead in this gritty family drama. She plays a mother forced to reunite with the son she abandoned 11 years prior after his father falls ill.
"Trucker" does well at distancing itself from over the top antics while staying in the lines of life's daily highs and lows. Letâ??s face it, lifeâ??s dramatic enough without high speed chases and special effects.
This indie gem is only playing in a hand full of theaters nationwide, including Beverly Hills â?? Laemmleâ??s Music Hall. You may have to take a road trip to see â??Trucker,â?? but the ride is worth it.
