Review of To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar (1995) by Mark L — 03 Nov 2007
The first time I saw this movie, I hated it. With all the hype over it and all the rumors about how much Wesley Snipes hated this role, and burnt his costumes afterwards completely turned me off. It really is, though, a great little film.
The cast is amazing, the story simple and sweet (if not somewhat beyond suspension of dis-belief). The openins sequence with Salt-n-Pepa's "Beautiful" rocks. And if Mr. Snipes hated this role so much, phooey on him, but he pulled it off fabulously.
See it, love it, work it.
