Review of The Witch (2016) by Brendan N — 25 Jun 2016
Just a harrowing film that delivers strong acting and storytelling. The period is gritty and at a time when the book of god was considered gospel, you feel for these characters. The tone is set very early and I was shocked at the Witch's first reveal, you'll realise just how dark it goes.
The film is a massive arthouse masquerading as a horror film, I think that is why audiences have been so mixed with ratings. The pacing is slow but rewarding, it's a journey that delivers at every turn.
