Review of The Wind That Shakes the Barley (2006) by Bucky K — 02 Nov 2008
This film is a stunningly authentic and acted story that touches on a rarely-documented time in history, and if features the great actor Cillian Murphy in what is easily his strongest role to date. The dialogue from all the actors is wonderfully natural, almost sounding like ad lib.
There are no overly melodramatic moments. rousing adventure music, cliched lines, or predictable plot points, which just goes to show the extent of this film's sheer brilliance.
