Review of The Purple Rose of Cairo (1985) by Ruby L — 18 Sep 2007
Faced with an abusive husband (Danny Aiello) who doesn't appreciate her, Mia Farrow frequents the cinema to indulge in her escapist fantasies. One day, she is shocked to find one of the characters (Jeff Daniels) interacting with her.
What follows is a, probably unrealistic (?), delight that is chockful of Woody Allen's wildest dreams. A film made by a movie lover for other movie lovers.
