Review of The Promise (2016) by Linda C — 21 Apr 2017
The Promise was presented in a very thoughtful, tasteful manner. It gives people who don't know about the Armenian Genocide a glimpse of the atrocities without going graphically overboard. You see the bravery of the Armenians and people, including some Turks who helped them.
You have to be in awe of the people who survived to make a new life in other lands. The film should be mandatory for all students of history. It reminds us of the current sickening human slaughtering in current times.
Excellent acting! Beautiful scenery. Tasteful display of passion and unimaginable man's inhumanity to man. See it and don't forget. Hitler used the Armenian Genocide as one of his excuses to exterminate the Jews.
Speak up for the ones lost and the Armenians who live to make the world a better place.
