Review of The Manson Family (1997) by Nanae S — 08 May 2009
For an extremely low budget film it is not too bad despite the below par acting. Van Bebber shows again that he has an eye for visual flair and experimentation and whilst I have no idea how accurate this version is there is no denying it is quite powerful.
I guess some might say it goes overboard but how can you possibly go overboard when you know what actually happened. It certainly has flaws but overall is an interesting film and manages to capture the feel of late 60s documentaries (mixed with early 70s exploitation in a way Tarantino wished he could).
