Review of The Killing of a Sacred Deer (2017) by Drew R — 03 Nov 2017
The Killing of the Sacred Deer is a film that's definitely NOT for everyone, due to fact it's unsettling demonic nature, uncomfortably laugh-out-loud funny moments with touches of dead-pan violence just to keep things interesting.
It's fable, satire, horror, psychological -thriller, comedy with nods to magical realism that does an in-depth examination on the nature of "evil", revenge and human depravity. The Killing of a Sacred Deer is possibly the most ambitious movie I seen since Lobster, but where all absurdity pays off in climatic finale that justifies all the uncontrollable moment(s) (which there are a lot of).
This movie is brilliant. I highly recommend it!
