Review of The Illusionist (2009) by Inês N — 28 Sep 2012
Usually I don't watch movies randomly. I look them up, see what they are about, maybe even watch the trailer. With this one I didn't. I just had nothing to do, sat on the couch, noticed that an animation was almost starting and jumped right to it.
And I loved it. I can honestly say that i've never watched a movie that portrayed loneliness like this one did. Each scene was sharp, poignant, even naif at times. Apart from that, the movie is also about following your dreams, your most crazy ones (maybe being a magician or something of that sort), and not being successful.
.. I always thought of going to art school but never did. It was way to risky. They took the chance and they failed but at least they know it now...
